The group meets once per week on Thursday evenings at the Ananda Buddhist Centre. Duration of sessions will be approximately two hours; from 6:30pm till 8:30pm. All study materials will be supplied but you may wish to bring along your own pen and paper for taking notes etc.

A small donation per session, to help us cover the costs of materials, would be greatly appreciated.

The course to be studied is the Rongton Buddhist Training College’s ‘Five Year Training Program’. It is a comprehensive program, covering most of the fundamental features of Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. It is concerned with the major Buddhist traditions in Asia, their philosophy, teachings and practices. The course employes a dynamic approach to Buddhist education, combining both traditional and modern teaching and study methods. Click here to view the full Rongton Distance Education Prospectus. The first unit of study (commencing Thursday August 16 2012) will be The Life of the Buddha.

The group coordinator, Allan Grant, will lead each group discussion session, liaise with Rongton College administrators on behalf of the group, correspond any questions from the group to Course Director Lama Choedak Rinpoche, organise distribution of course materials, gather and process enrolments forms, and respond to any general enquiries about the study group.
