Lama Choedak

Lama Choedak

Lama Choedak Rinpoche is one of the Tibetan Buddhist meditation masters living in Australia. He had 12 years of rigorous monastic training including a three and a half year solitary meditation retreat, sponsored by his holiness the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader.

Rinpoche has been teaching meditation in the west for over 25 years and has an excellent command of English and understanding of the western mind. His teachings are lucid, practical and enjoyable. He is the spiritual Director of the Tibetan Buddhist Society of Canberra Inc. and its Buddhist Training College.

Ellen Davison

Ellen Davison

Ellen is the resident teacher of the Kuan Yin Meditation Center in Lismore and a guiding teacher for the Bay Insight in Byron Bay. A major focus of her teaching is the application of meditation practice to everyday life.
Ellen is the psychologist and works as a student counsellor in TAFE. She teaches and leads retreats and workshops in both the Zen and Vipassana traditions within Australia. Ellen is a member of the Insight Teachers’ Circle Australia (www.dharma.org.au).

Venerable Rinchen

Ven Rinchen

Venerable Rinchen is the resident nun and spiritual coordinator of Khacho Yulo Ling Buddhist Centre. She was ordained in Nepal by the late His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche on the 3 March 2001 in his beautiful room overlooking the Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu. In October 2003 she took full ordination in the Vietnamese Tradition at the Shakyamuni Buddhist Centre in Canberra. This auspicious occasion was hosted by the Abbot of the Centre the most Venerable Thich Quang Ba.

Venerable Rinchen has undertaken many retreats and teachings to further her studies as a nun, she has some experience in both Vajrayana and Shamatha retreats and has been fascilitating meditation courses,workshops and retreats since 2002.

Her passion is working with the dying and up until June 2011 was the coordinator of Maitreya Hospice Care, a not for profit organisation that was part of the greater palliative care team in Cairns. This organisation provided in-home respite to the carers of the dying and helped many families over a ten year period but due to a myriad of reasons has now ceased operating. Rinchen, however will continue this work volunteering in the community.

Lekshe Tsultim

Lekshe Tsultim

Tsultim is a monk in the Sakya Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. He started his “formal”practice in Buddhism and meditation in 1992 after being inspired by the visit of H.H. Dalai Lama. Tsultim became a student of Lama Choedak Rinpoche after meeting him in 1996. Tsultim states his path was made clear when he attended his first 10 day Calm Abiding Retreat with Lama Choedak Rinpoche in 2001.

Tsultim met H.E.Chogye Trichen Rinpoche (Lama Choedak Rinpoche’s teacher) while on pilgrimage in 2001. At this time the Rongton Buddhist Centre (Brisbane) came into being, and along with other dedicated practitioners, he has facilitated teachings for Lama Choedak Rinpoche plus, Lama Jamyang Lekshe-la, and H.E.RatnaVajra Rinpoche.
Tsultim was ordained by H.E.Chogye Trichen Rinpoche in August 2006 at the opening of the new National Sakya Centre in Gippsland.  His Eminence passed away in February 2007 making Tsultim states feel extremely fortunate to have been blessed by such a great being. Through the guidance of Lama Choedak Rinpoche Tsultim states he will endeavor to facilitate the activities of the Buddhadharma to help all beings discover their true nature, and find the deepest peace and happiness.

Lekshe Tsultim is the resident monk at Rongton Buddhist Centre in Brisbane.

Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe

Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe is one of the most knowledgeable and respected teachers of the practice and philosophy of Tibetan Buddhism in Australia. His excellent command of English and understanding of Western ways provides his teachings with a clarity and wisdom accessible to all, Australia-wide and overseas. He is the Founder and Spiritual Director of the Drogmi Buddhist Institute in Sydney

Khenpo has taught all over Australia and internationally in the last 15 years, and maintains a busy schedule. He regularly gives talks and conducts meditation programmes in central and western Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the New South Wales south coast, Queensland and many other locations.

Loppon Tsering Samdup

Lama Loppon Tsering Samdup

Loppon Tsering is one of the few English speaking Tibetan Buddhist teachers in Australia and has been teaching and leading retreats in various places around Australia since 2000.

Loppon Tsering completed all studies of monasticism at the prestigious Sakya College and has done many retreats. He has also completed a translation course, taught Buddhist philosophy to monks at his home monastery at Bir in India and traveled overseas with high Lamas as an interpreter on several occasions.

Venerable Jampal

Venerable Jampal is a fully ordained monk in the Sakya Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and is also the president of the Tibetan Buddhist Society of Canberra. Jampal is currently the resident monk of SIBA Retreat Centre in the Snowy River Country of East Gippsland, Victoria.

Venerable Jampal has undertaken many retreats in his 10+ years of Buddhist practice and regularly teaches Calm Abiding meditation in towns around country Victoria.
